Mountain Tour

Arrival in Tbilisi. Pick up from the Airport. Transfer to the Hotel. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Drive to Mtskheta (UNESCO Heritage), an ancient capital of the Georgian Kingdom. Tour includes the following sights: Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, a life-giving pillar, Jvari Church – 6th century monastery, continue the drive to Kazbegi. On the way, we visit Ananuri Castle and Jinvali water reservoir, both places are of amazing beauty. Arrive in Kazbegi. Overnight in Kazbegi.

Start our trekking day. We walk to the Gergeti Trinity Church located at 2170m. If weather permits, we can  observe one of the highest glacier in Caucasus – Mt Kazbegi (5047m). Afterwards, we will drive to Dariali Gorge and have an approx. 0.5-hour walking tour of the Gveleti waterfall. Overnight in Kazbegi.

After breakfast, drive by Jeep to the village of Juta, 2200 m. above the sea level. Trek to Chaukhi pass 3338m. above the sea level. Trekking in this area lasts roughly about 3-3.5 hours. In the evening, drive back to Kazbegi and have time for your own. Overnight in Kazbegi.

Drive to Uplistsikhe, an ancient rock-hewn town in eastern Georgia. Stop in Gori and visit the Joseph Stalin museum. Afterwards, drive to Borjomi. Excursion in Borjomi park, taste the Borjomi natural mineral water. Overnight in Borjomi.

Transfer to the Borjomi – Kharagauli National park. There are different hiking trails and it’s possible to choose any one of them. In the evening, return to the Hotel. Overnight in Borjomi.

After breakfast, drive to Akhaltsikhe and visit the Rabati castle. Afterwards, drive to Vardzia cave complex on the left bank of the river Mtkvari, founded in the 12th -13th century, during the reign of Giorgi III and Queen Tamar. Vardzia had a significant role in political, cultural, educational and spiritual life in the country. In the middle of the complex, there is a Church of Assumption, richly decorated with mural painting. Then drive back to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

After breakfast, excursion in the capital city. Tour includes the following sights: Metekhi Church, structured on the cliff overlooking the Mtkvari river and the famous Sulfur Baths also located in the old district. We will lift up by cable car to Narikala Fortress. Visit Meidani Square and walk on Shardeni Street with its fashionable, cozy cafes and art galleries, pass along Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica. The tour takes you to Rustaveli Avenue, where attractions such as the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre, Rustaveli Theatre, and different art galleries, cafes will draw your attention and provide a cosmopolitan atmosphere. Farewell dinner at a national restaurant with folk show. Overnight in Tbilisi.
