Tour Around Georgian Metaphysical Land

Arrival in Tbilisi. Meeting at the Airport. Transfer to the Hotel. Overnight in Tbilisi.

After breakfast drive to Kakheti region – the land of wine. First we will visit Sighanghi, “City of Love”.  Here you will enjoy a beautiful panorama of the Alazani Valley and the mountains of Caucasus. Afterwards drive to Kvareli and visit “Gvirabi” tunnel. This unique wine cave is cut into the stone massif of Caucasian mountain range, where the yearlong natural temperature is 10-12ºC. The length of this construction is 7,7 km. Here you will taste different types of Georgian wine and get information about Georgian wine, making tradition which is recognized in the UNESCO intangible list. Then visit Gremi complex which consists of the Archangel Church, local museum and excavations. Drive to Telavi – main city of the region. Overnight in Telavi.

After breakfast get ready for a long and exciting drive to Tusheti. On the way, you will visit Alaverdi  Cathedral (6th century). Drive by Jeeps to Omalo, this route requires a lot of patience but here you will discover beautiful landscapes in the valleys of Caucasus. Cross the Abano Pass and arrive in Omalo — the center of the region. Overnight in Omalo.

After breakfast you will visit Keselo fortress (18th cc.). Drive by jeeps to Dartlo — the most beautiful village in Tusheti. Hiking from Dartlo to Kvavlo will take you to another world and time. Camp overnight.

In the beautiful morning light, head to the former village — Girevi. Horses are available for the luggage. Hiking will last the whole day with breaks and picnics on the way. Camp overnight

After breakfast, we continue hiking to the villages Chontio and Hego. In the evening, we will reach Atsunta. Camp at Atsunta Pass.

After a long and rewarding hike, we will reach the highest point of the journey — Atsunta Pass (3431 m.) Then walk down to the opposite side of the mountain. Camp overnight

Hiking through the small village – fortresses of Khevsureti, the path goes along Ardotistskali River and brings us to Shatili – the center of Khevsureti region. Dinner with a local family. Overnight in Shatili.

We return to civilization thru Datvijvari Pass. Drive to Mtskheta (UNESCO World Heritage Site) — the ancient capital of the Georgian Kingdom. Visit Jvari church, built in the 6th century, and the 11th-century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Then drive to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi

During the city tour, you will not only discover the old town, but also see the new districts. Visit Sulfur Baths, Narikala Fortress, Metekhi Church, Bridge of Peace, and more. Then stroll along Rustaveli Avenue. Overnight in Tbilisi

Transfer to Tbilisi Airport. Departure.
