Arrival to Tbilisi. Welcome at the Tbilisi International Airport. Transfer to the Hotel. Overnight at the Hotel.
On the second day upon arrival, the tour will take us to the east Georgia. We will visit David Gareji cave complex, and then will go to Sighnaghi “City of Love”. In Sighnaghi, we will stop at a local wine cellar. Following the wine cellar, we will go to village Tibaani to visit another, local farmer’s cellar and conduct a wine degustation with “Chacha” complimentary. Dinner at Tibaani and return to Sighnaghi. Overnight at the Hotel in Sighnaghi.
Taking off from Sighnaghi and heading towards Gurjaani. Making short breaks on the way with opportunity to enjoy and film amazing landscapes. Visit of All Saints Church upon arrival to Gurjaani, the only two domed architectural Monastery in Georgia. Later, we will make another visit to a wine cellar at Gurjaani, where we will conduct an interesting excursion, including wine and “Chacha” degustation with Georgian bread “Shoti”, Imeretian cheese “Suluguni” and various fruits. And finally, visit of one of the most famous Georgian winery, a famed “Teliany Valley” factory. Overnight at the Hotel in Telavi.
On the fourth day of our journey, we plan to visit famous medieval Alaverdi Cathedral, Ikalto Academy and also the “Shumi” wine factory, where we will have an opportunity for degustation of various wine blends as well. Following “Shumi” we are going to check another famous wine factory, “Telavi Wine Cellar”. After wine tasting, we will head towards local farmer’s cellar and restaurant for a dinner with locally made cuisine. We would have a unique opportunity to take part of local bread baking process, making of “Mtsvadi” and “Churchkhela”, and finally traditional Khinkali (famous Georgian cuisine meal) preparation. During the dinner, hosts will demonstrate us Georgian “Chacha” (prototype of vodka) preparation. Overnight at the Hotel in Telavi.
Trip to Gremi Monastery after morning breakfast. Later, visit of Lopota Lake, with another local cellar visit and red and white wines degustation prepared from “Qvevri” (wine vessel). Leisure time with fishing option right on coast of the lake. Heading to Napareuli village, our next local wine cellar acquaintance, with old traditions of wine preparation. Another wine tasting and leisure time to relax and enjoy the untouched area. Overnight at the Hotel in Napareuli.
Breakfast at the Hotel, and trip to Kvareli, where we are going to discover an amazing Lake. Next, we will see an exceptional wine cave, a real tunnel cut off from the part of mountain range. The cave has an amazing feature of holding the air temperature 50-54 Fahrenheit (10-12ºC) all year around. The length of this amazing cave tunnel is about 5 miles (7.7 km). Upon the end of cave visit, we will head to Tsinandali and visit the house-museum of Prince of Georgia, Aleksander Chavcavadze, including beautiful gardens and local wine cellar, again with additional wine degustation. Return to the capital of Georgia Tbilisi. Overnight at the Hotel.
On the last day of our journey, we are going to be exposed to an exclusive master classes of Georgian cuisine, visiting Georgian Culinary Academy. Each traveler will have an opportunity to prepare 3-4 famous national dishes under guidance of professionals and certainly enjoy his or her own made meal. Following the lunch, we are going to make an excursion around Tbilisi. During the city tour, we get to see and know the Old Tbilisi Sulfur Baths, The Holy Trinity Cathedral, Georgian Orthodox and Armenian Apostolic Churches, Jewish synagogue and Turkish mosque, all side by side. All these monuments prove Georgian open mind policy and recognition of varying religions. At the end of our excursion, we will visit an amazing Narikala Fortress, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Tbilisi. Ready for a dinner?! Sure, we are planning a farewell dinner at a very good City restaurant with incredible Georgian cuisine with special folk music and dance show. Overnight at the Hotel in Tbilisi.
