Yerevan City tour: main streets, the Republic Square, the Opera house, the monument, Matenadaran- “the oldest depository of manuscripts”. Afterwards trip to Geghard (UNESCO world heritage site). It is an incredible ancient Armenian monastery, entirely carved out of a mountain. The trip will be followed by a visit to the magnificent “temple of the Sun” in Garni, the only pagan temple in Armenia, where you can admire the unique mosaic baths and ruins of the Royal palace. Here you will have a lavash baking master-class. Return back to Yerevan. Overnight.
In the evening the guests will participate in the celebration «Wine days in Yerevan». The Celebration starts at 18:30 and it will take place on Saryan Street.
In the first day you will taste local white and rose wines. Besides, you can taste delicious foods, listen to Jazz and Rock music. Return back to the hotel. Overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to Echmiadzin – the spiritual center of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the residence of the Catholicos of Armenians. In Echmiadzin you will also visit St. Hripsime, St. Gayane, St. Shoghakat. Afterwards, you will be guided to the ruins of the temple of Zvartnots (VII c.) which is a masterpiece of the Armenian architecture. Holy Echmiadzin and the Temple of Zvartnots are listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
In the second day you will taste local red wines. There will also be served delicious foods and national dances will be presented. You will have the possibility to listen to folk music too.
Return back to the hotel. Overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel. You will be led through the plains of the Ararat valley to the magnificent monastery of Khor Virap, set against the backdrop of towering Mount Ararat. The monastery is a place of pilgrimage and is the site of the prison where St. Gregory the Illuminator (who brought Christianity to Armenia in 301 AD) was imprisoned. You will also visit Noravank – one of the most beautiful monasteries (10 -14c.). Return back to Yerevan. Overnight.
